Newborn's First Pages Initiative
First Pages Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting early childhood literacy by distributing curated newborn book bundles to families in hospitals. Through partnerships with healthcare providers and community organizations, the program will educate parents on the scientifically proven benefits of reading from birth and encourage consistent reading habits at home.

Our Founder
Our founder is an inspiring educator who is dedicated to promoting literacy from birth. She has been in education for over 30 years, spending 15 years in special education. She believes in bridging the educational gap in all homes, ensuring that every child has a fair chance at achieving the best educational outcomes. Through her passion and commitment, she aims to empower families and create a future where all children can thrive.

Former Mayor of Jasper, Texas, and Legislator with the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature, Mr. Land is a dedicated advocate for infant literacy. He believes early reading is an investment in every child’s future and in the strength of the entire community.
Akyra Wright
Ms. Akyra Wright is an elementary educator and mother of two with experience supporting students in general and special education settings. She is completing dual certification in Elementary and Special Education and brings a valuable parent-and-educator perspective to early childhood learning.
Takisha Rose
Ms. Takisha Rose is a retired educator with more than 25 years of experience supporting students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds. She is committed to helping children and families build confidence, succeed academically, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
